Tell English Border Force to Crack Down on Homophobic Actions!
A gay man was stopped at London’s Gatwick airport by a Border Force officer because he was traveling with his boyfriend, had a camera, and “looked like a pedophile”.
After stopping him and searching his bag, the officer then told another officer that the passenger was HIV positive, prompting his coworker to tell him he needed to use stronger hand gel. These comments could be heard by the passenger and others in the area.
An incident that’s a part of a new report showing staff members making judgements based on harmful stereotypes, it contributes to the 71% of unjustifiable searches at the airport in the past year.
Please tell the English Border Force to crack down on homophobic actions. This needs to be investigated and action needs to be taken to ensure that officers no longer discriminate against passengers!

Washington, Don’t Take Away Marriage Equality!
Washington state legalized gay marriage in February, making it the seventh state to do so. But now marriage equality in Washington is at risk.
Anti-gay marriage Referendum 74, which would overturn the law allowing gay marriage in the state, got enough signatures to qualify to be put on the November 2012 ballot. 247,331 signatures were collected, which is much more than the minimum of 120,577.
The gay marriage law was supposed to go into effect June 7th, but the signatures have put it on hold.
Please tell Washington state voters to vote “No” for Referendum 74 and preserve marriage equality! Everyone deserves the same rights and to be treated equally under the law!

Don’t Expel Bullied Gay Teen!
Darnell “Dynasty” Young has been bullied for months — it has sometimes gotten so bad that he has thought about suicide.
His mother contacted the school but instead of taking appropriate action, asked Darnell to “tone down” his accessories. That is victim blaming.
Not knowing what to do, his mother sent him to school with a stun gun because he didn’t feel safe. On April 16, 6 students surrounded him threatening violence. He pulled out the stun gun and raised it in the air, setting off an electric charge. He did not use it on anyone — he simply scared them away, protecting himself.
Young was soon arrested and taken away in handcuffs. He is now facing expulsion from the school.
Please tell Arsenal Technical High School to not expel Young — who hurt no one and was just trying to protect himself — and to change their school’s bullying policy to offer more protection for LGBT youth. No one should feel unsafe at school!

We’re talking about human evolution in biology. The professor keeps referring to homo habilus/erectus/sapian/etc as “homos”. I am trying not to laugh. “Homos have been around for 2.25 million years”. “We are considered a lightweight homo species”. “These are probably homo footprints”. “This may have been a young homo holding the hand of an adult”. “Probably all of the early homos made tools”.
